Hi Im currently struggling to manually install and agent to DPM? i am trying
to protect a server accross an ipsec VPN (Isa2006 at both ends) the remote
server is sucessfully a member server in the domain and everything has
installed sucessfully, however when attempting to attach the agent i receive
the following errors..
From Powershell...
There is failure while attaching production server
D:\Program Files\DPM\DPM\bin\Attach-ProductionServer.ps1 : DPM is unable to
ret rieve the configuration information from baysrv01.
At line:1 char:27
+ attach-productionserver.ps1 <<<<
Ensure that the Windows Management Information (WMI) service NO_PARAM is
started
and is accessible from the DPM server.
PS D:\Program Files\DPM\DPM\bin>
from event viewer...
Agent operation failed. (ID: 370)
The DPM server was unable to retrieve information about the remote system
using the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service on
baysrv01.bayplastics.local. (ID: 400)
Anyone got ideas? DNS is fine and i have follwed suggestion about modyifying
ISA system rules but still no joy - cant install the agent using wizzard
either

Windows 7 / Vista loses local resources when connected to VPN Windows 7 When connected to a pptp VPN resources on the local domain are inconsistantly available. Previously with XP they were always available even if connected to a VPN. What has changed? Printing: From win 7, I can print to a Lan printer shared on the server (2008) Once connected to a remote VPN (windows 2003 pptp), the print que says With XP printing was still possible to the Lan even though connected to a VPN. Mapped Drives: Sometime they work, sometimes they do not. If I have a mapped drive to a local file server once connected to the VPN I cannot list the contents of drive, or access any of the files.
