I have downloaded "playforcertain", updated WM player, updated directX but
mpg files still do not play - black screen. I changed format to AVI and this
does play but is pixelated. Tried turning hardware accelerator down but
microsoft crashes when I try to open PPT.

========================================
Maybe your video driver needs to be updated.

It could be a file path length issue - try creating a folder directly onyour C

It could be a file path length issue - try creating a folder directly on
your C drive (e.g. C\presentation), putting the video file and the
PowerPoint file in that folder, then reinserting the video.
