Windows 7 - mpg won't play in PPT 2007 and avi is pixelated

I have downloaded "playforcertain", updated WM player, updated directX but
mpg files still do not play - black screen. I changed format to AVI and this
does play but is pixelated. Tried turning hardware accelerator down but
microsoft crashes when I try to open PPT.

It could be a file path length issue - try creating a folder directly on
your C drive (e.g. C\presentation), putting the video file and the
PowerPoint file in that folder, then reinserting the video.

DirectX Windows Update? or go and download - -- version Windows 7 I ran the DirectX Diagnostic tool to find the version of DirectX on my machine. The dialog box reads: DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) I read somewhere the other day that there are listed the version number (like 4.09.0000.0904) is not noted. Even on the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, the date isn't given. I know Microsoft has one available to download t want to do it again. Inserting Clipart Into PowerPoint Locks up PowerPoint 2007 Windows 7 When I try to insert clipart from MS Office Online into PowerPoint 2007 it often locks it up so that I have to shut down PowerPoint and then reopen it.
