Excel for Mac is not equipped with the Web Query features provided in the
Windows versions. You have to write them as Text Files. This article gives
you the 'how-to' but it has not been updated for 2008 & I am not sure offhand
where they need to be saved in the 2008 version [no Macs available to me
right now];

Thanks CyberTaz for the quick reply...well i did follow the instructions and i got an error something to the effect that it couldnt obtain the info...anyone know on how to do this?? thanks in advanced...

It seems to work fine here... The one difference being that the KB instructs
you to change the text file extension to .iqy, but I believe that is no
longer supported. Leave the .txt extension as is - but you may have figured
that out by now. I'd forgotten about that detail 8-}
Also, not all web sites are accessible by way of web queries. If you are
certain that the one you are trying to query should be usable perhaps there
is some sort of error in your text file. Exactly when does the error
display? You can paste a copy of the text file in a reply here if you would
like. Maybe I or someone else can spot what is preventing its success.
