Windows Live Hotmail forgery

I received a forged email in my Windows Live Hotmail account today:

This was not handled by a Hotmail WEBDAV pickup server, though, despite the
appearance.

By comparison, email to the same Hotmail account from outside of Hotmail:

The typical "X-Originating" headers added by Hotmail servers are part of
this forgery. Just something to watch out for when you get email.

Email to the same Hotmail account from within the Hotmail system, using an
HTTPMail client:

In this case, unlike the forgery, the X-Originating-IP line matches the
orginating Received: from X by X line.

And email to the same Hotmail account from within the Hotmail system, using
a web browser:

In this case, because there was no client access to the HTTPMail system,
there is no Received: by X from X reporting line; but the X-Originating-IP
line is still accurate.
