Live mail drops Verizon Broadband connection

Asked By John Leonard - Sage
11-Nov-09 11:01 AM
Have Vostro Laptop - Windows 7 Professional - Windows Live Mail.

Using a Verizon USB Broadband Adapter/NIC.
Each time I connect to the Internet and search or go anyplace -- no problem!

When I use Live Mail to get my Gmail messages, the connection drops, almost
immediately?

Any thoughts or solutions?

thx

Did you check that the account type you defined in your e-mail client
matches how you configured that account's access in its server-side
settings (use the webmail interface to see its POP/IMAP setup)?

So does "connection drops" mean you actually are no longer connected to
your ISP (Verizon)? Once you try to use Windows Live Mail to connect to
Gmail, you also can no longer web browse to a site?

Check your settings in WLM at Tools, Accounts, Mail/News, Properties,
Connection for each mail and news account. One or more of the accounts
may be set to always use a specific connection. Also look at Tools,
Options, Connection for Hang up after sending and receiving.
