I have Win7 installed and I cannot send a link or page from IE8. Both "Send
page by E-mail..." and "Send link by E-mail..." are "grayed out when I
select the drop down menu "Page". Thanks for any help.

Windows Live Mail or Windows Live Hotmail?

Oh, geez. Even you know that Cox is NOT an e-mail client. Stop being
facetious.

Well I actually have both, I guess. You could refer to a post of mine about
8 below this one titled "multiple accounts" for a little background. I am
still having issues with that, still getting the same mail in both my
cox.net account (my default account) and the windows.live account.

Of course you are right. I meant to say I have, I guess, a number of email
addresses. When I was using Vista and Windows Mail as my email client, my
address was toneywho@cox.net, I now am using Windows live as my email client
with two addresses; toneywho@cox.net and toneywho@live.net with
toneywho@cox.net my default plus something on the internet called windows
live hotmail. Whatever I am using it ain't working too well for me and I
guess I am one of the few people in the world that liked Vista an am now
screwed up with Win7.

[Let's stick to the other thread if you need further assistance with the
Hotmail vs Cox stuff, please.]

1. You may have a name@cox.net and a name@hotmail.com account/address and
you may consider one of them your default account/address but neither can be
a default Mail Client. If Windows Live Mail is installed, it is your default
Mail Client.

A Mail Client is the application invoked when you (a) click on an
email-address (link) and (b) when using Send To functionality (e.g., 'send a
page' and 'send a link').

In Win7, you can select your default Mail Client (e.g., Windows Live Mail)
via Set Program Access and Computer Defaults:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Change-default-programs-using-Set-Program-Access-and-Computer-Defaults

2. This newsgroup is not an appropriate newsgroup for assistance with
Windows Live Mail. Seek any further assistance here instead:

3. Technically, none of the MS Public newsgroups are appropriate places to
discuss anything having to do with Win7. Since MS has chosen not to create
any new Win7-specific newsgroups, you will need to seek support in one of
these web-based forums:
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windows7.

I'd strongly recommend subscribing to the Windows Live Mail newsgroup in
Windows Live Mail and bookmarking the Win7-specific forums for future
reference, Tony.

Best of luck.
