Restricting access to internal hosts
hi all!
i have a problem which i hope you can help me with. please see image located

as you can see i connected a router with the company network and which
routes to a gateway connected to the internet. everything is working ok and
there is full connectivity throughout. my problem is that users which are
connecting to the internet via the router are able to access the internal
workstations. is there a way how i could still allow internet access to the
machines connected to the router but disallow them access to the internal
workstations?
thanks!

You may have many options. 1. Put the wireless router before the gateway. 2.
If the gateway has another port, connect the wireless router using different
subnet.

Chap V1 for VPN Connectivity Windows 7 I understand that MS decided to deprecate Chap V1 on the VPN connectivity options, and instead provide only Chap V2. So, instead of having two decent encryption options available for VPN, MS decided to leave two non-encrypted options, and delete a useful and supported Chap of our PIX firewalls. FOR GOODNESS SAKES, PLEASE MAKE CHAP V1 AVAILABLE AGAIN IN THE VPN CONNECTION. WHY WOULD MS MAKE THE DECISION TO REMOVE A FUNCTIONAL ENCRYPTION STANDARD AND REPLACE communities / newsgroups / en-us / default.mspx?mid = ee04e293-f727-4949-a029-c3dfbee3d0cf&dg = microsoft.public.windows.vista.networking_sharing Windows Vista Networking Discussions XP (1) MS (1) VPN (1) Networking_sharingRe (1) PIX

Domain Users and VPN connectivity Windows 7 I'm hoping this is something simple, which I think it is, but I 2005 on a domain environment. I have a branch office in another state with a VPN tunnel to our main facility here. At the moment I have a single LCS server, and I'm trying to connect the remote office to LCS over the VPN. Now I know Kerberos is working, as I can read the security logs and see can help me out here, it's getting frustrating. Local connectivity versus 'local plus internet connectivity Windows 7 Why is it that my computer on provides "local connectivity" at times. What does "local connectivity" mean? How can I avoid this problem. I go to a 'hotspot' expecting to have 'internet connectivity' and I cannot get on the net. I have a strong signal but the connection icon tells me I only have 'local connectivity'. This is very frustrating and there appears to be no way to get internet connectivity. Vista Business, Wireless and VPN Windows 7 I've read of a number of people who are experiancing this problem, but haven't been able to find a solution. I use the built in Windows VPN client to connect to the office. Was working fine with Windows XP - whether I was connected to the internet via wired or wireless. Since upgrading to at all. Internet connection is fine - I can browse with wireless, just not connect with VPN. I've tried disabling the wired NIC, and it's got nothing to do with if I can't connect to the office it makes Vista useless for me. Help!
