Windows 7 - How do I change default "save as type" for pictures from .bmp

Asked By Corinn on 28-Oct-08 05:47 PM
I want to save .gif and .jpg pictures embedded in e-mail. When I right click
and go to save as I only have the option to save as .bmp. I have tried
putting the file name and extension in brackets "filename.gif", but to no
avail. It is still saved as a .bmp file. I have tried different settings on
the file type for opening of programs.
Please help!!

If these are HTML messages, this may apply:

Internet Explorer Saves Images As Bitmaps (.bmp Files)

You should also clear Outlook's Secure Temporary Folder:

Please note that that would only apply to Outlook Express and not Microsoft
Office Outlook ;-)
