When I rebooted my computer not long ago a "Command Prompt" window opened and
began running "124ca4.msi.  The Event Description:  Product: Remote Desktop
Connection -- Removal completed successfully.

Is the 124ca4.msi a Microsoft installer?

I do not believe it is and that sounds awfully suspicious!  I just
googled it and only got one hit (your post below).  Bing.com returned
nothing.  I'd definitely run a virus scan if I were you.
