Windows 7 - WLM and strange things

My observations about WLM using Windows XP.

WLM is very slow compared to Outlook Express. Slow startup even on a fast
computer.

Slow getting messages.

Doesn't seem able to do two things at a time. I cannot read messages in one
account while it is downloading
messages for other accounts. ( I have 7 accounts )

Can't move several e-mails from an account to the storage folder at once.
One at a time works ?

When checking junk e-mail and I find one that is not junk it is address is
added to my Contact list ? It would be OK if it was transparent and went
into another contact folder. Maybe I do not know how to set this up.

When creating new mail I would like the dictionary to work automatically,
like MS Word, when alternating between different languages. At least I can
use the e-mail function with MS Word.

I would like to organize the folder pane and have it keep things where I put
them.

A few other strange things happen from time to time but I never wrote them
down so cannot comment.

News reader always opens on the early posts and not on the last post that
was read. I do not like to delete all the messages when exiting.
Anyway WLM news reader is not a real news reader.

WLM, the good, it works with Hotmail. ( Now if I can get Thunderbird to
work with all the features of Hotmail. )

Never tried WLM it with Windows 7 even though I have Windows 7 beta 64 bit
on another drive.

I do have the released Windows 7 in the box. Since I do not have my new
computer yet, it will stay in the box until then.
When I do get my computer and with Windows 7 installed, I will see how it
goes getting my mail transferred to the new machine.

Do you login to Windows Live?

I highlighted 7 emails, right click, Move to folder. How are you doing it?

If you use the Language Bar in XP, the spell checker will switch when you
change languages.

I Ctrl + A, then Ctrl + Q before existing a newsgroup. My view is set to
Hide read messages. WLMail can open to an unread watched post.

You can read from a Find window. (Same as OE.)

Details?

...

I think it opens at the first unread message.
So, to preserve position you could use a view
which does not have any unread messages in it.

BTW that option would be a lot more convenient if WLMail
had kept OE's Views bar. Otherwise you soon learn that Alt-V,V...
has become Alt-V,CursorRight in both WLMail and OE. <eg>

Correction: I think that is how it used to work but now it seems
to reposition itself to the oldest message when returning from
the Mail mode. So then, what you could do is mark the post
you were positioned at with Unread and Flagged Menu,n Alt-A,a
then set the View to Flagged (Alt-V,CursorRight,F)
(Flagged is a customized view.). Then provided that was the only
Unread Flagged message WLMail would position you to it on return.

Windows Live Mail - Uninstall or not to Uninstall? Windows 7 I am trying to help a friend of mine. I use Outlook 2003, but I have acquired a general understanding of hoe WLM works. I am going and clear as I can. WLM was already installed, but not setup, on his PC (Windows XP-home-sp3) when he installed a Microsoft webcam. First step was to come up with an ID (Screen name), then, we had realized that to get to your e-mail you had firsdt to sign in to Windows Live, then select an account. Well, this is annoying and, I believe, unnecessary. What we
