Windows 7 - Can't import OE messages

What am I doing wrong when trying to move OE messages from one XP machine to
a different XP machine running Windows Live Mail? Every time I try to
import on WLM, a storage folder is created but it is empty. I have the view
set to "show all messages".

Here is what I have done. The OE dbx files were copied to a flash drive from
the first machine, including folders.dbx. Those files were then copied to a
folder on the new machine, making sure "read only" was not set. I used
file - import on WLM and pointed to that folder. The import seemed to be
taking place as I could see the neames of the OE folders and the green bars
showin progress. At the end I received a message that the import was
complete. And yet, the storage folder was empty. The old files were not in
any of the WLM folders.

What did I miss? Thanks for your help

Anne

Hi, Anne.

Do you now have an Imported Folder near the bottom of your Storage Folders.
It probably looks like just one line, but if you click and expand it, you
may find lots of subfolders and messages. You can drag these out of the
Imported Folder and into the proper subfolders under Storage Folders. If
you hit a snag dragging the folders, then highlight all the messages in a
folder (Ctrl+A will select them all) and drag the group of messages.

In Windows Live Mail (WLM) look under Storage folders, Imported Folders
for your imported messages.

You'll need to expand the collapsed folder structure by clicking on the

Yes, there is an Imported Folder, but it is empty. I tried importing
several times and get Imported Folder 1, Imported Folder 2, etc. All of
which are empty.

I even installed WLM on the old machine. When it ran on the old machine, it
successfully grabbed all my OE folders into WLM. I then exported the WLM
messages onto an external disk, which I then attached to the new machine.
Again I tried to import messages, this time from WLM form. The import
seemed to be successful. There was a new Imported Folder which was again
empty. In fact, all the subfolders in the Storage Folder are empty.

Thanks,
Anne

Oh I feel so dumb! I missed the little arrow next to the Imported Folder.
Once I clicked it, all my old email accounts were there. Now comes the
dragging and dropping. Thanks to RC and Mike for your help.
