Live mail type green only.
Asked By Grumpy
21-Nov-09 07:52 AM
I have Windows 7 Live mail.
I changed my font to Monotye Corsiva 18 Black as the default Font used in my
E-mails.
Now when I compose a new E-Mail the type is green. I can change it to black
by high lighting the type and changing the color to black.
I have been back and checked the default Format and it is all set to black.
I have also redone the defaults.
The address and subject come up in black. But the message types up green.
Any help would be appreciated.

Grumpy,
I temporarily configured WLM to use Monotye Corsiva 18 Black as the default font for html messages, closed WLM, opened WLM,
created multiple emails with and without signing on with a Live ID look at the messages in during composition, drafts, outbox, sent
folder, and upon receipt to pop3 and http accounts and do not see any green.
Thus do not have any suggestions...beyond checking to see if your video card is using the latest available drivers or even roll back
the driver if optional(if the latter, ensure you have the existing drivers to return if necessary). Some video cards separately or in
conjunction with an o/s have additional color management option that might provide a solution(ymmv).

Thank you Winston,

The funny thing was that it was in black before I reformatted the font.
I might try uninstalling the WLM and reinstalling it.
My Nvidia/Palit 8500GT Super 512 graphic card updated before I put in WLM.
Thanh you again, Grumpy,,.
Is Monotye Corsiva 18 Black the only green font?

Yes.I think I have fixed it.

Yes.
I think I have fixed it. I made lime green the default color, opened a new
e-mail typed a few words, then I made green the default color opened a new
e-mail typed a few words,
Then I made black the Default color. Going through the colors like this
seems to fixed what ever was locking on the green.
All the changes were made through Tools/ Option/compose
Any way I will keep my fingers crossed.
Again thanking you,,. Grumpy,,.
Grumpy,Could you clarify how you are making the settings.

Grumpy,
Could you clarify how you are making the settings. There are at least two
places to set fonts.
At the base mail interface (not composing, not 'new' message)
Tools
Options
Compose
Compose Font
Mail: Font settings
This will set the default and on my machine this is what controls the
initial conditions in the compose window of a new message and it works as
expected, if I change to green then all new typing is green when I open up a
new message till I change it.
In the compose window (after a 'new' message) is opened there is
Format
Font
Which allows you to set the format, size, color for typing to be done after
the setting is made, It does not change the default for the next 'new'
message.
I know you do not want to hear 'works fine for me :}. (I am using Windows 7
with Windows Live Mail)
Michael
"Michael. As far as i am concerned there is only one default for WLM.

As far as i am concerned there is only one default for WLM.
It is Tools/options/Compose/Select the Font-size-and colour you
want./apply/OK
In the same options window are;- General/Read/ Receipt
/Send/signatures/Spelling/connection/Advance.
Mate the rest of the story is in the posts above.
I have only had Win 7 and live mail on my Computer for about a week.
This is not the first glitch with live mail. In the first 10 E-mails
sent.,it sent one 5 times and lost 2 other. That was out of 5 I had in the
out box.
Also I am trying to find a setting for SMTP. After telling it to wait, i
want to increase the time it waits before checking again for mail. Could
change it in Outlook Express but cannot find it here.
Many Thanks Grumpy,,.

Setting the mail checking interval in Windows Live Mail is done exactly
like it was done in OE: Tools, Options, General tab, "Check for new
messages every X minutes."
Incidentally, that is not an "SMTP" setting.
