Windows 7 - Why doesn't Windows Live Mail delete read mails

I have Windows Live Mail setup where it should not leave mail on the
server but that does not matter because Windows Mail seems to ignore that
preference.
Even though I have read an email I still have to mark them for deletion
using Windows Live Mail or Windows Mail. This is also true using other
email client software no emails are removed from the servers despite
preference settings.
I am sure the same applies to Newsgroups, so I get the feeling I am reading
some of the same headers again.

Each email client has to have the 'Leave a copy...' unchecked.
The account is pop3?

If all units with the same account in all email clients are configured to not leave on the server then access the account/check
settings in the web UI available from the account provider.

Other email client software (Thunderbird) deletes the email from the Pop3
accounts. I will definitely check the web UI accounts again.

Windows Live Mail - Uninstall or not to Uninstall? Windows 7 I am trying to help a friend of mine. I use Outlook 2003, but and clear as I can. WLM was already installed, but not setup, on his PC (Windows XP-home-sp3) when he installed a Microsoft webcam. First step was to come up realized that to get to your e-mail you had firsdt to sign in to Windows Live, then select an account. Well, this is annoying and, I believe, unnecessary. What we email. Should we uninstall and reinstall WLM and start from scratch? If we start from "windows live installer" we should be able to achieve the desired resault. How do we uninstall we import the contact list from OE? Thank you very much for any help.
