Your post in the Windows Mail newsgroup was answered. This group is for
Windows Live Mail. Do you know which program you are using?

Win 7 is an operating system.
What program (Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail) are
you using?
Are you using your browser to access an online account?
Yahoo could be accessed with an email program or a browser.

So which mail account are you trying to set up, Yahoo?
US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail access only, no POP=20
access. Windows Live Mail handles POP mail but not Yahoo webmail.=20
Yahoo's solution is to pay them for premium "Mail Plus" service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/overview/index.ht=
ml
and use the special settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html=20
If you are OK with using a non-Yahoo email address, you have these other
solutions that will work with Windows Live Mail:
* Use the email address assigned to you by your ISP.
* Use a free Gmail, AOL, or Hotmail/Live account.=20
You can also continue to use Yahoo's webmail: http://mail.yahoo.com=20
If you need more help with any of these solutions, just ask.=20

cannot access WINDOWS UPDATE successfully . . . keeps soliciting New!Get Microsoft Update today! Windows 7 I am running Windows XP SP3 Home Edition on 1 of 4 PC's and it is been updated through early April 2011. Prior to this, accessing Windows Updates (via http: / / www.update.microsoft.com / windowsupdate / v6 / default.aspx?ln = en-us) worked to understand why. Recently, around the middle of April 2011, each time I went to Windows Update, the page initially appears and I can briefly see the 2 buttons (of which my PC running XP SP3 Home Edition because my other 3 PC's, all running Windows XP SP3 Professional with Internet Explorer 6 are having no problems with Windows Update. Why do you still use Windows XP? Windows 7 Give your reasons. Do you plan to upgrade ever? If so, when and why? If you use both XP and 7, do you ever plan on ditching XP for good? What will you do when support point where this OS will be problematic with new hardware? Personally I am waiting for Windows 8 to release a second service pack. XP sucked when it first came out until did not work, it had to enabled then disabled to be disabled for real. Sigh. . .
