Windows 7 - Downloading messages query

I am using Windowd Live Mail with Windows 7

Often when I check for new emails and there are none, there is still a
message saying "checking server for list of messages" with a green bar
showing progress of the check....but no messages.

What is that about?....is it just showing me that the check is actually
happening?

Yes.
Fyi...lacking the ability to see that dialog box (to which you are=20
referring) thus guessing at what you are trying to describe..the dialog =
box=20
may have a push-pin that can be clicked to toggle the window off/on.

Also note if using WLM for nttp newsgroups ensure that each nntp server =
is=20
not included in Send/Receive (Rt. Click news server in left hand=20
pane/Properties/)
