Windows 7 - Local Store Folder #2 - All Sent Items

Asked By Roland Schweiger on 26-Jul-12 03:25 PM
Sorry if bothering the group again,
however i am just wondering why aparantly only I seem to have such
inconsistencies in the local store folders.

Apart from the described problems in my other thread, i subsequently
come across the following problem:

Have about 8 (POP3/SMTP) ind 2 LIVE eMail Accounts in WLM - latest
version, all uptates on Win7 64bit.

About every 4th eMail that i send (with an attatchment file) will
never show up in the quick view folder "All Sent Items" (in my German
version 'alle gesendete Objekte')
It does however properly show up in the SENT items folder of the
corresponding eMail account.

There is nothing on my machine which i can think of that inhibits WLM
and as stated earlier, the only Anti Virus / Anti Malware software is
MSE and i suppose it properly handles everything.

Could there be some other conflict e.g. with the overall indexing
service of Windows? Or is it really just some kind of bug in WLM?

greetings

My guess would be that it is a glitch with the quick view of Windows Live Mail.
Is it only messages with attachments? Does not matter what account the message
not displayed is sent from? Is there any pattern to those messages such as the
size of the attachment, or type of attachment, or even who is receiving the
message?
I trust that you know that this newsgroup is only carried by new servers that
do not honor the remove group message sent by Microsoft when they shut down the
nntp server where the groups were originated from.
There is a forum for Windows Live Mail here:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/livemail-email
My link leads you to the US English forum. There is a German language version,
too. Select the language/locale from the drop down in the upper right on Answers
to get here: http://answers.microsoft.com/de-de/windowslive/forum/livemail-email

Yes sadly, i do know that MS no longer hosts the group, however, i did
not know that MS requested to actually remove the group.

Thank you vy much for the info. So i suppose from now on we all have
to use the forum and only irregularily the group?
I will check the English and German threads, hovever i do not think
there is any correllation to the language versions and the described
although even this cannot be totally excluded.

Unfortunately untill now i did not notice any regularities to when
exactly the problem occured e.g. size of attatchment, type of account
and so on.
But i am still trying to find out.

Hello, Roland. Greetings from New Jersey, USA. You can continue to use the
newsgroup, but there is not much traffic or visibility here. There is much more
activity in the forum. Of course, activity does not mean that a solution will be
offered any more easily. :-)
You can choose English or German or switch between them. The forums are
launguage unique, meaning that posts to the English forum are not translated to
the German forum and the reverse. The discussions are unique to the language
selected.

Every 4th mail that you send with an attachment ?

Iirc, WLM QFE3 has the ability to automatically rebuild the Quick View =
(QV)=20
index approx. every 6th time WLM is opened. If a message is not =
appearing=20
in the QV Sent items then three things are possible (afaics)....
1. Message was not indexed properly into the message store
2. Message was corrupt and could not be indexed.
3. Quick View (which is nothing more than a Search) failed due to (1) or =
(2)

What you can do...
1. Repair WLM
2. Force a manual index and compact at program close by changing the =
counter=20
to 1

Had already set the compact-folder-counter to 2 in the past.
The behaviour is really funny: just after having read your post, i
looked in my "all sent items" and there was the message with the
attatchment.
It took about 4 days to appear in the all sent items. :-)
Several times the WLM database was compacted on closure, and at least
3x the computer was re-booted.
