Having sortd out the installtiion of Live Messenger - thanks to Jpnthan,
MVP, I have moved on to Photo Gallery, and encountered a problrm there too.
All relevant elements to do an individual installation - again, thanks to
Jonathan for his excellent website - downloaded OK - I did not bother with
the ones I'd already
installed as part of getting Messenger up to date.
When installing PhotoLibrary.msi I encountered an error message that said
C:\Windows\Installer\PhotoLibrary.msi
could not be read. I checked to see where that file was and found it was not
on my system. I copied the file I
had downloaded into the Installer directory - but that only brought up other
error messages!
I know I have used PhotoGallery before - I have a couple of set of photos
there already. What have I done wrong this time?

I will refer you back to Jonathan's blog entry with details on how to install the
individual programs and their supporting files for Windows Live Essentials, but
rather than using that method, just go to http://download.live.com and download
Windows Live Essentials. When the installer launches, uncheck what you do not
want. If you have already got Messenger installed and it is up to date, it will not
be touched.

Boy there is nothing like making a mountain out of a mole hill. IT would
be just so much easier to go to download.live.com and get the installer
from there. Then when you run it you can select what you want or do not
want installed. Oh and BTW it will not bother anything that is already
installed and up to date....

This would involve buying the UPGRADE version
