Hi,
I have been testing Live sync for my personal data but I wonder how secure
is my data while in the Air.
1. Is the data encrypted?
- Ans: Yes, I guess I have an option to encrypt the data.
1.1 What encryption algorithm is used? In other words, how strong is the
algorithm.
2. How secure is the port used by sync? In other words, are the
participating workstations vulnerable to hacker attacks even if they have an
anti-virus and/or firewall installed.

Not just an option, it is encrypted. The following is from Live Sync Help here:
http://help.live.com/Help.aspx?market=en-US&project=WL_Sync&querytype=topic&query=WL_FolderShare_CONC_AboutSync.htm
Sync is a peer-to-peer network (Two or more computers that share a direct
connection.) with security features. Only you and people that you invite can
view or access files in your synchronized folders. To help increase privacy,
Sync encrypts all files exchanged over the network using AES (Advanced
encryption standard. An algorithm used for securing data transferred over the
Internet.) and SSL (Secure Sockets Layer. An encryption format that helps keep
information secure while it is sent across the Internet.) , and authenticates
files using RSA (A cryptographic technology that is the industry standard for
high-quality encryption, especially for data sent over the Internet. The acronym
stands for Rivest, Shamir, and Adelman, the inventors of the technique.) .
As secure as any other port with a listening app behind it. Live Sync
communicates to the Live Sync service. If two PCs are online and connected to
the service, Live Sync can communicate P2P. Without the proper authentication,
traffic will be refused.

Do you believe that the configuration option under the Settings/General tab
that claims to enable or disable encryption is just a dummy and a tease?

piece of crap Windows 7 In a nutshell, this program is a frigging waste of time. Folder Share worked Simply and Correctly. Windows Live Sync is a joke. it is a damned shame Microsoft got their hands on it. I agree that it isn't perfect, but neither was FolderShare. The only issue that I seem to encounter on a random basis is that LiveSync details would give the post some substance and make it useful. -steve - - Stephen Boots MVP Windows Live Windows Live OneCare / Live Mesh Forums Moderator sboots@mvps.org Had nothing but issues

It is trying to get a 3rd connected. The first went smoothly. -steve - - Stephen Boots MVP Windows Live Windows Live OneCare Forum Moderator sboots@mvps.org i am having the exact same problem, what is really annoying is
FolderShare vs Windows Live Sync log-ins Windows 7 [Crossposted to FolderShare and Windows Live Sync newsgroups] My client's been using FolderShare since before MS acquired it in Nov-05. Their log-in (i.e., email address in after the transition? Should we create a new Live ID associated with their current FolderShare log-in in anticipation of the transition? Will their current log-in automatically be associated ID once the transition takes place? (Kinda doubt it.) I imagine there are many other FolderShare users out there who may be in the same boat and the WLSync hasn't
mswmm not supported in windows live Windows 7 I loaded all of my digital family movies into windows movie maker in windows vist ultimate and they were saved as mswmm files. These worked wonderfully in windows vista ultimate. But when I got another hard drive and motherboard and installed windows 7 onto my new hard drive I left my windows vista ultimate hard drive in my computer. When I went to transfer my movie files onto my new hard drive, windows live video came up with a blank video. It does not support my movies any
