Windows 7 - can't get desktop stream to reflect the current time

Hello,
I am a new user to WME 9 series, and am trying to get it to stream the
desktop. I have designated the input as desktop, and set the output to
stream. I am using port 8081, and have opened the firewall to allow
connections to it. The networking is ok, as I am able to open a WMP client
to the streaming PC and am able to see the desktop... except ... that the
time does not change on display that shows on the client WMP. I get nice
resolution, and lots of bits and packets flying around, but the current time
does not come across. What am I doing wrong?
TIA !

There is nothing to see on the "Time" - the media encoder is sending
realtime video, not a file (I assume) so the concept of "in 30
seconds" is a bit pointless as you cannot seek 30 seconds forward, or
indeed 30 seconds back.

Cheers - Neil

be from different vendors. That is one vendor for anti virus, another vendor for a FireWall application and another vendor for anti spam, etc. I am an advocate of blocking TCP / UDP Port 135 ~ 139 and 445 on SOHOR Routers and / or FireWall appliances. It certainly does not hurt and it specifically closes thaose doors of ingess / egress get back here sooner. Thanks for the reply. Would you give me your favorites for firewall and also for malware and / or rootkits ? (They do not have to be free) From get back here sooner. Thanks for the reply. | Would you give me your favorites for firewall | and also for malware and / or rootkits ? | (They do not have to be free) I am not one for a FireWall application but a NAT Router or FireWall Appliance combined with the native FireWall of XP, Vista or Win7. As for anti virus, Avira AntiVir. For non-viral malware 1. I have a NAT router but I do not think it has any hardware firewall on it, do I need one that does ? (I do have the netbios ports blocked

Windows Firewall is good so you do not need any other software based. Your router should also have a built in firewall so that too could be turned on to have double protection though it is not XP machines I set up use either Avast or else MSE and the default Windows firewall and within the last year. . .none of them have yet gotten infected. microsoft.public.windowsxp free version, though. Since that subscription ran out, I have been doing without a software firewall. I tried Comodo firewall, but I had some problems with it and did not have time to troubleshoot them and I have been meaning to give it another shot. Windows XP's built-in firewall is only half-useful, and that half should be covered by your hardware firewall, so
easier to automate, but it can be done with Windows too. Obviously enabling the windows firewall will make such a simple attack very much harder - but certainly not impossible. I have be disabled. They are not available on these machines here; for example. A hardware based firewall which filters netbios requests helps nicely too. :) - - Hackers are generally only very weakly motivated by quality of the password chosen. The WPA / WPA2 cracking is done by capturing a few packets (not many are needed, apparently) and running the cracking off-line. Windows software firewall is far from impenetrable. There are many common attack strategies. It comes with holes - not party software firewalls - in my opinion, these often lead to more vulnerabilities than windows own firewall, as they add layers of complication that introduce new bugs and then new security flaws have so many problems getting things like bittorrent to work that they disable the whole firewall. I prefer to be paranoid - I use a hardware firewall between windows machines and the
PC Tools firewall or Kerio 2.x Windows 7 An MVP said that the XP firewall was not as good as Windows 7's, so I am installing a 3rd party firewall on my XP virtual machine (XPM, or XP Mode). I realize there are many free not take a Ph.D. to understand how to operate. I am considering PC Tools firewall, which seems user- friendly, or Kerio 2.x (which I have somewhere). This seems to contradict the expectation that firewalls that are two firewalls?
