Does anybody know by which criteria the topmost album art is chosen when
viewing the artists in the media library?

With best regards

Just guessing based on the behavior in Windows Explorer, it might be the last
album added for the particular artist.

First of all, i would like to thank you for your reply. But this can not be
the case. I have several examples in my media library where i added a newer
album to an artist and the topmost album art was still the same as before.
This question is really tricky.

7 I meticulously maintain my music library of around 2000 albums keeping all tags and album art perfectly up to date. Last night I added 1 new album, found a nice cover art image and dropped it in and all is good. I changed. This one annoys me even more. Especially now they've changed the web base album info service for the worst. No, I keep all my music carefully stored as My Music \ Artist \ Album \ files.mp3. A pretty standard arrangement, I would have thought. This way I can navigate as well as WMP. What I have noticed is if you update files using "Find Album Info", it seems to update most tags immediately but can take up to a couple of days to update the album art - if at all! Obviously, this art is being cached somewhere and being applied sometime really. . . . . Cheers Baz I know exactly what you're talking about. I go into "Find Album Info", and accept the data - my files appear to be updated. Then I might make info! How annoying. . . . The workaround I found is to make any changes within the "Find Album Info" series of dialogues before you accept it, then it will apply the found info
Album art mixed up in WMP 11 Windows 7 I'm having trouble with album art getting mixed up and appearing on multiple albums. My windows media player version is ve traced the problem to this; when media player assigns the GUID filename to the album art, it is just a series of zeros, instead of an actual unique identifier. It It only happens to a few folders, but the result is every time a new album is added, that WMP decides to give a GUID with all zeros, all albums with help. Album Art problem in Vista Media Center Windows 7 Hi, I have a problem with Vista Media Center's handling of album art which I am hoping someone can help with. When browsing music some of the album art pictures are either incorrect (i.e. not the correct picture for the album) or they are simply an empty black square. I have checked Windows Media Player on the Vista Media Center PC and Windows Media Player displays all of the album art pictures correctly. It appears that Media Center is not using the Windows Media Player database for displaying album art but has its own separate cache which I have been unable to identify or have looked in the folders containing the mp3 files for albums with incorrect or missing album art and all the jpg files in these folders are correct (and match those shown any artwork from the internet in case it is incorrectly downloading the wrong or corrupt album art so I cannot understand where Media Center is getting this incorrect album art from
