DRM security upgrade failure

Asked By WE
07-Apr-07 01:28 PM
In an attempt to fix DRM trouble with Yahoo Music, I followed their
instructions & upgraded to Windows Media Player 11 from v10, then applied
this security upgrade:
http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp
I get a dialog saying:
this upgrade?
Click yes. Then:
another program or operating system component encounters a problem but does
not communicate the nature of the problem to the Player."
I've tried this repeatedly, always with the same result. Any suggestions on
how to recover? In the interim I can't play any of my DRM'd music.
I'm running Windows XP SP2.

If you go to windows explorer, find the Documents and Settings folder,
then All Users and DRM, it's probably still got files left over from
WMP10

Rename that folder (eg to _DRM) then repeat the individualsation
process at the indivsite web page above, to see if anything improves.
