Windows 7 - Help needed in getting Windows Media Player to play VCD

I need help in getting Windows Media Player to play my VCDs. Previously it
was able to do that. Am not sure what happened recently but now it just
refuse to play.
The error message is C00D11B1
Please help

VideoCD uses the MPEG-1 decoder, That should be available if your
DirectX is up to date, as it's provided by that - see DirectX 9.0c on
this page

If that doesn't help after reinstalling DirectX, you might find
FFDShow restores VideoCD playback, though I've never tried it for
that, it lists VCD support in the package contents :
