problem: album art is often (but not always) wrong.
for example, when in library view, with album art displayed, the art is
sometimes wrong.
switching to 'now playing', the album art is correct.
checking the a.t. editor (pictures tab) shows the correct art for all songs
in the album/cd.
the same 'wrong' art often shows up for many different albums.
i have all my music lumped together in the my music /music folder (ie.
without putting each band & album into a separate folder ).

WMP stores the album art that is shown in the library as JPG files in
the same folder as the music files. You may want to check these JPG
files, especially
AlbumArt_{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}_Large.jpg and
AlbumArt_{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}_Small.jpg could be
causing the problem you are having. These files will be hidden, so you
will need to make sure Explorer is set to show hidden files.

WMP 11 glitch with Album Art?? Please help?! Windows 7 I have an extremely large music collection that I have been slowly sorting through. Every time that WMP or I add an image as album art, it creates several hidden files within the album folder. One called "Folder", one called and one "Small" with a unique 32-digit Hexadecimal show up as all zeros. The problem is that each time I have a new album with all zeros, it updates itself to all the other previous albums that also have all zeros. If I delete all the art files associated with a specific album, the next time I open WMP it will revert to the correct art files and folder but they are still all zeros. It only stays correct until the next new album with all zeros is added, and it does the same thing all over again. It the files by creating random 32-digit Hexadecimal codes myself, will it still identify the album art correctly?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Thanx. from downloading and showing JPGs? Windows 7 Version 10 never downloaded or showed all these album cover JPGs when it downloaded music. I am not interested in having these pics, plus Discussions LocalMLS (1) JPGs (1) DVDs (1) FilesRight (1) Attributes (1) Remaster (1) UnClick (1) Baets (1) I am not entirely sure, but unchecking "Retrieve additional information from the Internet", in WMP's Options - Library, could prevent WMP from downloading album art. To remove all existing album art, simply delete all JPG files in your music folder. Note that these files are you need to make sure Explorer is set to show hidden files. WMP does not force you to view the album art, you can easily switch to Details view in the library to hide it. WMP11 duplicates album art! Windows 7 I am adding album art to my library of mp3's. I had a bunch of songs that I had 'Unknown Album' as the album title for, but now when I update these songs with their correct title and corresponding album art, the pasted art gets duplicated on all other 'Unknown Album' songs . . even the ones I had already edited. What can I do to fix this. Seems like a bug to me . . . . Windows Media Discussions Album (1) WMP (1) ID (1) ECCFE (1) MCDI (1) APIC (1) PRIV (1) AMG (1 folder or in different folders? Sorting a Compilation Album by "Album" bugged ? Windows 7 I have ripped a Compilation CD. When the Artist is set to Various Artist and if I sort my library by Album, I see only one one Album with all the titles in it. When I change the artist to the real name and I sort my library by album, I have as many album as artists on the CD. Looks like the library is being sorted by Album AND by artist. Is there a way to prevent this ? or a workaround ? Windows Media Discussions Windows (1) Album (1) Baets (1) Artists (1) What version of WMP and Windows? WMP has two different
