Every month, Automatic update goes nuts with this Malicious Software removal
tool.
It installs it, then 2 minutes later it wants to install again, again, and
again....
I shut down, and I start up the next day and there it is ready to install
again. I do a custom install and when it's done it says the install was
complete. I close the window and few minutes later the update icon is in the
task bar. I located the mrt.exe file and ran it. It's from Apr 2006. I went
directly to the website and downloaded the tool, with the same results. How
can I correct this problem.

I solve my problem, I located and rename mrt.exe to mrt.old. Thats the file
that gets downloaded every month. I found it in windows\system32 folder. I
hope this helps..

I What I did first, was try the six different key combinations. A working console command window appeared on my computer, when I tried Control-Alt-F4. But it could be any of the six possible values, that gives you a window to work in. If you see a flashing cursor in the upper left corner, and all, then move to the next key combo and try again. Like an MSDOS command window, you can type stuff in there. You'll see the prompt "Kavrescue # " or something similar echo status:accepted > / var / log / eula.log Next, we are going to kill that white window. Using the number we got from the ps aguwwwx command above, we do this. The GUI environment (the environment they want you to use). If the recipe worked, the white window should be gone.
