Windows 7 - Windows Update Error Code 64C Vista Home Premium

Hi I
have just run Windows Update and two updates are rejected with Code 64c I
would be grateful for a description of this error. Nothing comes up under
Get Support
One was a security update for Visual Studion KB937601   This article says
Windows Installer 3.1 is a prerequisite. The KB for WI3.1 does not list
Vista as a target system in any version and will not load.

Then other rejected service pack is SQL Server Express Edition Service Pack
(KB921896)  This error code is not listed in the likely error codes occuring
for this service pack.

I would be grateful for some help. The OS is a recently installed copy of
Home Premium. I loaded the recommended fixes for the installation of this
system

Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

What does   net  helpmsg  1612
show on your OS?




My guess would be that  Vista  already has that level of installer built-in.




Where did you get the  SQL Server  from?
Perhaps that isn't compatible with your OS?
You may get more informed help with that by posting
in a newsgroup which specializes in that product
(or using the equivalent TechNet web forum.)
