Windows 7 - "WindowsUpdate_800700C1" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"

Asked By Dennis Arthu on 16-Mar-09 11:32 PM
I continually get this error and the message that Windows cannot search for
updates. I have had Dell, Norton, and Windows online help all unable to
correct this problem. Has anyone else ever seen this error?

On which OS?

E:\>set /a c = 0xC1
193
E:\>net helpmsg %c%
193 is not a valid Windows network message number.

Try a web search?

http://blogs.msdn.com/joshpoley/pages/errors-007-facility-win32.aspx

(Microsoft Search of MSDN only for
(0x800700C1 OR 800700C1) -inurl:social
)

193 0x800700C1 %1 is not a valid Win32 application. ERROR_BAD_EXE_FORMAT

If that is the meaning of the code, perhaps you have picked
the wrong version of an update? Or have a corrupted module
already? Etc.

Suggests an inability to check your license.
Go to start/run, and type
regsvr32 regwizc.dll and press OK

then type,
regsvr32 licdll.dll and press OK.
