Windows 7 - Computer found updates

When I first activated windows I had just bought a computer and decided to
just take the hard drive out and use it in my old one (which is pretty brand
new) it was just dropped and the hard drive fried. When I activated windows
I used the product key of the new one I just bought which is a Dell instead
of the one I put it in which is an Emachines. So all the drivers were not
loaded. So I went and had network adapters added and got in. Well it showed
a list of automatic updates which I did install. Now my system hangs and
reboots itself. I can get in by going to safe mode with networking but
cannot download anything or put anything on disk. Is there a way to
reactivate windows in my emachines and get everything back to where I need it
to be? Or am I going to have to buy a cd? By the way I have tried to do a
system restore before the downloads but it says it cannot restore it.

I have a desktop by Emachines that I pretty much like. I bought a
refurbished computer and thought I had checked everything but when I got home
I found that I would have to get a new keyboard or a plug in for it because
the furbished one (Dell) did not have one. I really needed to get on the
computer and try to catch up on some homework. So, I just took the hard
drive out of the Dell and put it into the Emachines but when I activated
windows I used the product key from the Dell instead of Emachines so it is
searching for the Dell drivers (right)? When the updates came up it showed
it had one for SP2 and after downloading everything it restarted the computer
and I now get the blue screen if I miss hitting F8. I only can start my
computer in safe mode. I tried doing a system restore but it says it cannot
restore it. First can I reactivate windows with my Emachine product key
instead of the Dell one? Second, how can I get my computer to run correctly
without having to go into safe mode and it restarting itself?

Doctor: "Don't do that."
You should not have done any of that.

Wireless Adapter keeps disconnecting Windows 7 Hi there, I recenctly bought a new machine that has Vista Basic installed on networking settings first and then the connection will only last around 15 minutes before the adapters led stops flashing. I then have to reboot to get a connection again. I tried as though there are a lot of other people with the same problem on different adapters, which would suggest a fundamental problem with Vista. Windows installer 3.1 & IE7 fails to install Windows 7 3 weeks ago I upgraded my motherboard, processor, RAM & display card. Since I can't clean install a new windows XP cause my old system has all needed programs & settings to my needs (very hard I used to option of repair install, inserted the XP CD that gave me "upgrading windows", & all went OK, new drivers installed, removed old ones. Funny thing is my IE7 is goes till the point where registry editing starts & stops installation & rolls back changes to IE6 & windows restarts. . Same when I try to update Windows installer to 3.1, it stops installation at the point or registry changing & rolls back account, how come? Why both installation stops at the registery editing point?
