Windows 7 - Network file deletion

I have just some how deleted files via a mapped network drive. any
ideas where the files went? they are certainly not in the recycle
bin!! :((

files on a network drive go bye-bye.. not to recycle bin.
if you do not have a backup, you might try Recuva to undelete them

ah that does not sound good.. yeah i've tried a few software recovery
tool, none worked. recovered main junk or files I already have.

network recycle bins yet?? Windows 7 I have been HOPING hard that they would finally put a network recycle bin into Vista but again, im not seeing it. . .or is it there and im needs being there is generally a shared hard drive or server that has all the files that the whole office work off of. and if something gets deleted by someone, its think there should be something like that. It should be just as common as the recycle bin itself. Im jsut trying to prepare myself for saving my own butt the minute But don't turn off system restore or it'll stop working. Protecting Network Files / Folders via Recycle Bin Windows 7 I notice that if I select a network location for a system folder (Favorites, Documents, Pictures, etc.) it adds those to the Recycle Bin list of protected folders. This is great! Is there a way to manually add other network folders to be protected by the Recycle Bin?
