Windows 7 - Company of Heroes Gold Edition patch not updating.

Alright, so i just bought COH today and after installing it it prompted
me to download a patch. I did this, but had to restart it at about 99%
as it froze, but was fine the second time. It then prompted me to
download the next patch, and i've been stuck on 3.09 mb for a few hours
now, ive tried restarting it and such, with nothing happening. any ideas
on what to do? running vista x64 ultimate with 2048 MB of memory, a
Geforce 8800 graphics card and my processor is Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @
2400 MHz

This looks like the right thread to ask if anyone knows how to get past
the the lvl 56 dragon guarding the blue intel on 2fort?

Strange that it froze.  Makes me wonder if the patch was not really
successful.

Try this in the following order:

- updating your graphics drivers to the latest version;
- updating your sound drivers;
- updating Windows to the latest version (Windows XP SP2 required);
- updating your mainboard drivers;
- patching the game to the		 		 latest version.
