Hi, I would like to askif someone can help me.
I've recently bought a Sony VAio notebook with Winndows Vista. I also bought
a Modem Router in order to get wireless connection.
The problem is that when I plug the ethernet cable to the router I can
access the Internet but when I unplug it the Pc tell me that I have no access
to Internet. I can find the wireless connection and I can connect but the
access is ONLY LOCAL and not to the Internet. Why? My friend can easily get
the connection when he comes into my room but he has XP. WHat should I do to
find a solution? Please help me!!
Many thanks.
Veronica

When you are seeing only local connectivity, try right-clicking the Network
icon and choose "Diagnose" -- see what it says is wrong with the connection.

I did it: he said that the connectivity of my pc is limited or absent. What
should I do? I tried to follow their instruction but it didn't solve the
problem. Please give me a suggestion.

Thanks!

Why do you still use Windows XP? Windows 7 Give your reasons. Do you plan to upgrade ever? If so, when and why? If you use both XP and 7, do you ever plan on ditching XP for good? What will you do when support is dropped to the point where this new hardware? Personally I am waiting for Windows 8 to release a second service pack. XP sucked when it first came out until SP1. OT? Windows 7: Faster than XP? Windows 7 I am one of those who will probably stick with XP until they are dragged kicking and screaming. . . . Having said that. . . . I have been fooling around boxes and am starting to think that, with enough memory, it might be faster than XP on the same PC.
