Windows 7 - Remote Desktop Fails To Connect To My PC

Hello,
I have been trying to use the remote desktop feature for awhile now. I have
had success with computers that are using the same router that my source PC
is on, however, once I go beyond our house and beyond our router and internet
connection none of the computers I use can connect. I guess what I am asking
is how to set up a remote desktop connection in vista from behind a Linksys
A/B/G router. I have gone through all of the support options and completed
all of the suggestions however none of them really say how to connect from
outside a router once the source PC is setup. I have tried typing the PC's
IP in but nothing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Linksys WRT54GL wireless router at home. In the "Applications and
Gaming" tab I forwarded port 3389 (used for RD) to my internal IP address
(e.g. 192.168.1.100). The external IP address that would be used to connect
from an RD client is found in the "Status" tab under IP Address.
So from work, I connect using an RD client on my work desktop to the
external IP address I mentioned (e.g. 70.987.234.11). The router will then
forward the connection request to the internal IP address you defined in the
router and connect!
Hope this helps.

remote desktop issues between 2 vista pc's Windows 7 Hey all. I have 2 vista pc's (1 x ultimate 64 - 1 x ultimate 32). They are both connected to the same router, one ethernet and one via wireless. Their local IP's are 192.168.1.10 and 192.168.1.11. They are both in a workgroup called "netville" and one pc is called ville1 and the other is called ville2. When I access network from vista both PCs are visible and Remote Desktop is enabled on both pc's. I have configured my router with port forwarding as follows: NAT: 1 RD - TCP - Wan IP Alias: All Public Port:3389 Private IP: 192.168.1.10 Private Port: 3389 2. RD - TCP - Wan IP Alias: All Public

Remote Desktop (RD) is a means of logging onto a machine from a remote location using an account is a) passworded and b) added to the list of Remote Desktop users. To use RD you have to know the machine's IP (or name if it's on a local lan) and have the account name and
