Windows 7 - Cannot access: Vista <--> Vista

I have a 64-bit Ultimate machine connected to a 32-bit Home Premium machine.
I can see the 32-bit machine but not access it. Have shared the "E" drive on
the 32-bit system, where I keep all my storage. All users full access.
User name on 64-bit and 32-bit system is the same.
File sharing is enabled on both systems.

Are they both in the same workgroup? (makes it easier)
is the network set to Private on both?
are you using a firewall that blocks access?

Yes, they are both in the same Workgroup.
Yes, Windows Firewall is enabled on both systems. Norten Internet Security
2007 is running on the system I am trying to access. But I believe that both
these should allow me through, or?
Barb Bowman replied...
Are the networks set to Private? They need to be. You didn't answer
that question.
Also, NIS 2007 needs to be explicitly told to allow file and print
sharing.

Yes, both are set to private.
I will try to look at the NIS settings.
BTW is there a way to control the other system permanently, if I do not have
a monitor installed on it?

A note to Windows Vista Team Windows 7 I'm quite angry with Microsoft for releasing Vista before it's ready, I've wasted 8 hours of my time in a small replacing my desktops with laptops, and I won't be buying any more that have Vista on until Service pack 2 comes out. If I had the time, I would send it can be taken back to the retailer for a refund. If everyone took back vista, Microsoft would be in a sorry state now. I'm sure it would cost more to administer that than they have generated from the sale of vista. For gods sake, make sure that "Son of Vista" works first time! I know that it's us humans that program the bugs into ethos of the company when it was originally set up. A unhapy user! Am I the only one who likes Vista? Windows 7 In personal computing I've left fingerprints on TRS, Apple II, Commodore, Atari current Mac OS capabilities. I'm not a guru, but am no beginner. . . I like Vista Home Premium better than anything else I've used. There were a few rough spots, but to me it seems excellent. Perhaps I'm just lucky? Installed Vista dual boot, think I screwed up! Windows 7 Hey gang, I think I have messed up here. I just installed 64 bit Vista Ultimate, retail full version, in what I thought was a dual boot environment. I added a new sata hard drive, and installed Vista on it. Now, I do not get an option when I boot to choose wich OS to boot to, it only boots into Vista. Under Vista, it shows as my C drive, I see the partion on the other hard drive my XP Pro is on, however under Vista it shows as drive E? Dangit, I thought I had read enough to know what I installed mine. If you don't have dual boot, it usually means that the Vista installation did not see your XP drive (was it unplugged?) if so that's just and choose the XP drive to boot to XP. If I don't do anything Vista will boot first. If worst comes to worst, use VistaBootPro on your Vista drive to
Connect to Xbox and BSOD Windows 7 Previously, my XBox360 was successfully connected to my Vista Ultimate PC. Recently, I installed Norton Internet Security 2007 and upgraded to 2008. Now, I get an error on the network test from the xbox. I have been able to connect the xbox to the PC, but every time I try to play music or look at a photo, the PC gets a BSOD and reboots. Seems to be a NIS problem, but can't seem to track it down. One help file indicated the following programs needed to OK'd in NIS: ehshell.exe, mcrdsvc.exe, svchost.exe, mcxnettw.exe, mcrmgr.exe, and ehexhost.ext.
