... can't see the XP computer on my lan.
I have Vista Ultimate with a router WRT54GS and have no problem with the
internet.

When I run ipconfig /all I get NetBIOS over TCP/IP = Disabled.

How do I enable that?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, unfortunally it did not do the trick.

I run ipconfig /all again and Net BIOS is still disabled.

Perhaps your Vista box thinks your network is "public", in which case
it won't share or look for other computers on that network. Check out
config panel -> networking center, and set the network to Private if
possible.

As far as I know, NetBIOS is an obsolete protocol that you don't need
to talk to Windows XP.

Thanks, but my network setting is Private and as far as I know it has been
resurrected.
