Nero 7 does not work well with Vista. I have never gotten it to work right.
And on a couple of PC's running Vista it just would not install at all.
Forget that bloated suite and use something else.

Have you tried just letting Nero to go through the total installation
process without aborting it? You may have an option to skip/continue
when that error pops up. Just an idea ...!

I downloaded the latest version yesterday 7.9.6.0, it was 180,351,392 bytes
(171MB) not 228. It works well on Vista, much better than the last release
which got stuck updating multisession cds. I don't know what that is you're
getting. It's here http://www.nero.com/nero7/enu/nero7-up.php

I have three computers running Vista; two desktops and a notebook. All
three run Nero 7 just fine; no problems whatsoever.

Do a custom install of Nero and install only the parts you need!
It works fine for me!

My copy of Nero 7 is working perfectly with Vista.

Have you talked to Nero? Seems to me they'd be the people who could
help you.

Lions and Tigers and Vista. . . . Oh my!! Windows 7 Hello, I am getting the hebbie-jebbies reading all this dialogue about the dissatisfied customers of Vista and those reverting back to XP. We recently purchased a Gateway with Vista pre-installed. It is still sitting here on the floor waiting to get up and it up and send it back!! I now know from reading in the discussion group, Vista is not compatible with Picture It 2002 which is an ultimately important feature that I years ago on my present Gateway with the XP system. I have recently learned that Vista will probably not be compatible with my printer which is a HP 1315 All In feat to revert back to XP when the new computer is already pre-installed with Vista Home Premium and some deem it a very stupid option. If I decide to do well. Although it appears that there are some very staunch activists on the side of Vista, it also seems very clear that it is a very popular opinion that Microsoft has done its customers a disservice by marketing Vista. I suppose the old adage 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' seems
Is Vista worth the trouble ? Windows 7 I have a licensed version of Vista "Ultimate" edition which is causing me more frustration than I have had since the first newsgroups and effecting dark registry hacks to solve all these (often almost trivial) issues: IS VISTA WORTH THE EFFORT ? The reason I ask is that I have heard one or 2 (but not enough to be sure!!) mutterings that Microsoft are going to let Vista die a "quiet death" and concentrate on the next major version !! Can anyone enlighten me one way or another ? P.
