Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Event 1035 for every app.

Every time I reboot, Vista will log an event 1035 for every single app
installed on the PC. So, there are a few dozen entries like this every
time I log in:

Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: DellSupport.
Product Version: 6.0.3075. Product Language: 1033. Reconfiguration
success or error status: 0.

This just started recently and I can't think of any changes that have
happened to cause this. It's extremely annoying and is increasing my
log in time.

Any suggestions?

I have the same thing.

I have the same thing. I noticed it started on 11/27 and every application
installed is "reconfigured". It does this everytime a user logs on, which
makes log in time excessive. Log in, go get coffee. etc.

Are there no answers for this?

Right then. I have a new theory.

Right then. I have a new theory. I experimented on my "clean, does not
show problem" virtual PC and install/uninstall of everything Google
didn't cause the problem. I then backed up my main machine and tried
(I'm not sure why) -uninstalling- the "Dell Support Center". Voila,
problem goes away. Will now try installing it again (I'm not sure from
where, presumably it's a Dell download, I think the first time it was
weird about Dell Support attempting to install Dell Support Center while
uninstalling itself?)

Hi,

Ditto! I uninstalled Dell Support Centre and the problem has gone away.
Thanks!

Thought you might be interested to know that I contacted Dell Technical
Support previously about a problem I had with an ATI update which was
recommended by Dell Support Centre, and which I installed using the Dell
Support Centre link, and it caused the ATI application to stop working and
created other problems on my system. Believe it or not, the Dell technician
recommended that I uninstall Dell Support Centre as the updates from Dell
Support Centre sometimes stop applications from working!

Dell Support Centre seems to create more problems than support.

Thanks again.

The latest release of Dell Support Center seems to have corrected the problem.
