Firewall blocks network traffic Windows 7 After installing vista updates a few weeks ago my laptop lost all connections with the internet (Wireless and bluetooth). After spending untold hours trying to resolve it I decided to take the firewall down, just to try connecting with it down. The firewall screen told me that I, the administrator, was not allowed to turn the firewall off because of some group policy. I'm not on a domain and have no with that! Anyway, a few frustrated hours later I go into services and shut the firewall down the hard way. Suddenly I'm on the net. Anyone have suggestions on this issue? I hate having to keep shutting the firewall service down everytime I reboot and don't like that I have to keep it down in the first place. Norton vs Zone Alarm firewalls Windows 7 My Zone Alarm Pro firewall subscription expires in a few days and I recently bought a Norton Internet Security 2008 package that contains a firewall. I currently have the Norton firewall turned off and just use the Zone Alarm Pro firewall. I don't use the Win XP firewall because I heard that it's not a good idea to have several firewall on at the same time. We get internet through a Belkin pre-N wireless router that is supposed to have some sort of firewall built in and that one is turned on. My computer connects to the router with setup I describe regarding firewalls. Can anyone please advise on whether the Zone Alarm Pro firewall is any better than the Norton firewall in my situation? Should I renew the Zone

Vista Firewall Windows 7 We have just received a new notebook with Vista Premium sp1 installed. Is the Windows Firewall sufficient to protect incoming / outgoing information? Some people have told us Yes; others have said We are senior citizens and very unfamiliar with computers and firewalls, etc. If the Windows Firewall is not sufficient, is there a FREE firewall that someone could suggest to use as a substitute firewall?
