Windows 7 - Vista Ultimate Came Pre-Installed on Laptop.

Is there any way I can order the Vista Ultimate 64 DVD from Microsoft or am I
stuck just being able to create the Acer Recovery Disks? I would be willing
to pay a small fee + shipping and Handling. I understand there are quite a
few recovery type features I am missing out on without the Vista DVD.

If I am not mistaken the recovery disks should include the full Vista
recovery tools

Your laptop came with Vista pre installed. Its known as OEM(original
equipment manufacture). If you want X64 you will be forced to buy a
disk. I suggest newegg.com.
However your prduct key which is located on the green sticker on the
bottom of your laptop will work with any x64 Vista disk. As long as its
not a system resore disk.
You could download a copy of Vista x64, burn it to a DVD and install
from that and you would be fine. Just use the product key you already
have and activate and the rest is all downhill.

Vista Ultimate x64 Installation Reboot Issue Windows 7 I have an Acer 5052 laptop, on which the Vista Beta 2 (x64 version) runs just fine. I tried installing the Vista Ultimate x64 Retail, and it completes the first installation part, then reboots. . . When "starting windows for the it restarts What is the problem here? Vista Ultimate x64 installed only shows 2GB of Ram when I have 4gb Windows 7 I tried to do a clean install of Vista Ultimate x64 yesterday. When Vista finally booted to my desktop it only showed 2GB of installed memory. I checked my BIOS and it said I had 4GB. When I previously had Vista installed it always showed 4GB but I remember installing Vista the first time with only 2GB in my computer. Should I re-install Vista ultimate and then add the other 2GB later? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
