Windows 7 - Format is not enough...?

I currently have a Vista Home Premium notebook w/ 1 hdd that I'm
selling. The hdd has a hidden partition which has all the recovery stuff
on it that the notebook mfr has included.

I'm selling my notebook and want to know what is the best way to
completely erase all data on the drive but NOT on the recovery
partition.

This way, my data will not be recoverable, but keeping the recovery
partition will allow me to start the recovery program so that it will
reinstall everything back to factory spec and the person that bought it
will see the initial Vista screen upon first boot up.

Thank you,
AP

Boot with WinPE or Vista DVD OR attach the HDD on different PC.
Open* Command Prompt *and run *DISKPART*
Exexcute the following command.

It cleans all stuff....

Vista 64 bit or 32 bit on New Computer? Windows 7 I am going to purchase a new laptop computer but the one I want comes with Vista 64 bit installed and I'd prefer 32 bit due to the number of programs somehow in the Windows program on the computer or am I stuck with it? And, you are not stuck with Vista. Both Lenovo and Dell will sell you the XP downgrade. XP is twice as fast as Vista and does not have any of the application incompatibilities as does Vista. Why do I need Vista in my business? Windows 7 Dear Microsoft, I just wondered why I need Vista in my business? My experiences with Windows Vista in a business environment: - Loginscripts keep failing, but started somewhat working again after turning off interested in. They just want to do their job. Now I'm tired of this Vista, we've been running it since December 2007 on work. And I got a question from one of my employees: Why did you install Vista?
