Hi

For several months i have been unable to update Windows, Media Player, IE
etc - i think i have narrowed it doen to the Cryptographic Service error
highlighted in several articles, including
http://www.updatexp.com/cryptographic-service.html

My proplem is that the Cryptographic Service does not start (even though it
is on auto) - if i try to start it i get '

Error 126 - the specified module could not be found

I have read and tried the advice on
http://www.updatexp.com/cryptographic-service.html for this error, and no
luck - the Cryptographic Service is trying to run the the following file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs (which does not exist on my
machine)

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Triggering MSI Custom Action during Automatic ActiveX Installation on Internet Explorer Windows 7 Hi. I have an ActiveX control which depends on Visual Studio 2005 runtime. I successfully managed to install the ActiveX via a .cab file, however, I would like to use an .msi file instead of see that merge modules for MFC and VCRuntime are included. However, when I install the ActiveX via a WEB page containing an tag, the merge modules are not installed and the ActiveX fails to register. Also, I tried including the vcredist_x86.exe (Visual Studio 2005 runtime installer g. double clicking on the msi file on Windows Explorer) I can see that the ActiveX and its dependencies are installed properly. Is there a way to execute custom actions on an msi file during automatic ActiveX installation? Thanks.
