Hi

For several months i have been unable to update Windows, Media Player, IE
etc - i think i have narrowed it doen to the Cryptographic Service error
highlighted in several articles, including
http://www.updatexp.com/cryptographic-service.html

My proplem is that the Cryptographic Service does not start (even though it
is on auto) - if i try to start it i get '

Error 126 - the specified module could not be found

I have read and tried the advice on
http://www.updatexp.com/cryptographic-service.html for this error, and no
luck - the Cryptographic Service is trying to run the the following file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs (which does not exist on my
machine)

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Are you able to install any new updates from microsoft? I think the
following applies to you

I did some things, especially Group policy settings in
softwarerestrictions set to end user.

update works and activeX too.

God bless
