Windows 7 includes Windows DVD Maker, but does not come with Movie Maker.

Windows Live Essentials is a free download.... a suite of tools that
includes the first new era version of Windows Live Movie Maker.

Thanks John & Papa John for the replies.
Am planning on a new laptop but waiting for Win 7 next month since I do not
like Vista.
I like the way MM will put in random transitions right through the movie,
other software I have tried each one had to be done individually.

Why do you still use Windows XP? Windows 7 Give your reasons. Do you plan to upgrade ever? If so, when and why? If you use both XP and 7, do you ever plan on ditching XP for good? What will you do when support point where this OS will be problematic with new hardware? Personally I am waiting for Windows 8 to release a second service pack. XP sucked when it first came out until did not work, it had to enabled then disabled to be disabled for real. Sigh. . .
