Hi Rich,
Sorry for the late reply but I did not think anyone would respond to me so I
stopped checking. When I search for any files containing (2) in the name I
get most of them which were modified on 9-26-09 when I did the system restore
as I mentioned and those are in the TEMP folder in C: Documents and Settings,
I think I will just delete all the folders inside because theyre all just
duplicates it seems. However, there are also files from 9-4-07 and 9-6-07
which were renamed by also adding a (2) at the end of the file. Most of these
files are Real program files located in C:\Program Files\Real\RealOne Player.
The problem here is that some of these files are duplicated and renamed.
For example, the first folder is named "cache_db" and right next to it, the
second folder is "cache_db(2)" but the original is 123 kb and the duplicate
is 7.42 kb in size. At first I thought of just taking off the (2) in every
file that was duplicated in the Real folders to make them like they
originally were, but now I am seeing some original folders were duplicated and
renamed and they are different sizes than the originals. And this may not be
a big deal, but then I remembered how after system restore I have seen the
message telling you that those files were renamed to preserve their working
condition or something so I do not want to delete the duplicates and then the
program doesnt work. I rarely use it but I still would like to have
everything in working order.
Lastly, I wanted to ask you if you could direct me to the System Restore
files that you said take up a lot of space. I tried looking for them in C:
Windows and other spots but I do not think I have found them. Thanks for your
help
