Transparent remote login

Asked By GoBruins

hi all,

we have a computer running Windows XP Pro. from perusing the group, i
understand the we cannot have more than 1 RDC session. but here's what
we are tyring to do:

the computer is on, and Karen is in front of the computer and using it
like a normal desktop. if Bob connects via RDC, Karen must stop what
she's doing and log off.

we're looking for a solution where Bob can transparently log on and do
his thing (maybe in his own window), w/o Karen being displaced.

is this possible? thanks in advance.

Not natively without hacking Windows XP.

Try UltraVNC. I use it to quickly log onto my local PC's and perform
*interactive* support. So users can benefit from me fixing problem and
watch what I do to remedy said problem.

And it is free.

hi, and thank you. yes, we've tried UltraVNC. the problem with this
program is that it also "takes over" the host machine. we need a
solution where we can login and work transparently in the background,
whereby the user isn't disturbed at all.
