Windows 7 - VPN failure for only one client. XP SP3 -> 2003 ISA server

I have just one client that is not connecting to the ISA server.
XP SP3 using default windows VPN client (connect to a network)
I have tried turning off the firewall and virus protection but still get the
721 error while connectiong
for responses using the pptpclnt client we get the ussual working responses.
Successfully connected to server using TCP port 1723 (PPTP)
Sending data to server
Waiting for a reply to the data which was just sent...
waits 30 seconds here
Recieved a reply. Reply contains the following text:

on the ISA server monitor I get
PPTP Initiated connection
PPTP closed connection
5 GRE responses with
Unidentified IP Traffic (GRE:0) Denied Connection default rule
other clients have no problem connecting it is just this one client.
when I try to connect to the localmachine using pptpsrv in another window I
get the same thing with the exception of

and on a side note there is nothing between the ISA server and XP machine on
the same outside subnet to test so there is no firewall out there between the

was able to get this computer functioning again by removing Cisco's VPN
client running a registry cleaner. verifying that connection would work
again. then reinstalling Cisco VPN client and again verifying that it still
works.

Why do you still use Windows XP? Windows 7 Give your reasons. Do you plan to upgrade ever? If so, when and why? If you use both XP and 7, do you ever plan on ditching XP for good? What will you do when support is dropped to the point where this new hardware? Personally I am waiting for Windows 8 to release a second service pack. XP sucked when it first came out until SP1. I run XP and have stayed on SP2 because the system is so fragile that it might not be able to recover from any problems with SP3.
