Windows 7 - Java script error?

Asked By Dennis on 25-Feb-12 02:43 PM
My nephew tried to make a desktop icon for Yahoo mail. He ended up with
a white 2" square in the upper left corner of the desk top that says this:

If I right click on properties in this window, I get this:

Any help with getting this fixed would be greatly appreciated. His wife
is rather upset with him...

Fantastic. I will have to think about starting a Yahoo Mail account. What
with no limit storage, it is a heaven sent. I can put all my stuff in my
emails and store it up in the clouds where, incidentally, governments
can examine the contents at their leisure. I might even get a
monitor/sleuth or two masturbating over my erotica collection!

But seriously, who started this first? Google or Yahoo? Yahoo Mail
certainly looks very much like Google Mail. My ISP's website email
facility looks like a Google Mail twin too. I must admit this is far
superior to OE which came with Win XP which at first I just did not want
to lose but now I will not go back to it if you paid me good money to do
so. No, thank you!

I assume you simply want to delete it, which should be
straightforward. On the other hand, if you want to fix and keep it,
just edit it and only keep this part: http://mail.yahoo.com/

There are a few different ways of creating a Yahoo! Mail desktop icon:

One is: Go to Yahoo! Mail page http://www.mail.yahoo.com/ , at the top of
your screen click File, a menu drops down, put your mouse cursor on Send, a
menu pops up, click Shortcut to Desktop.

Another way: Go to Yahoo! Mail page, right-click on a blank space, a menu
pops up, click Create Shortcut, a pop up asks "Do you want to put a
shortcut to this website on your desktop", click Yes.

Another way: If it is listed in All Programs: Click Start > All Programs >
right-click on Yahoo! Mail > point to Send To and on the menu that pops up
click Desktop ( create shortcut ).

Another way: Right-click on desktop > point to New and on the menu that
pops up click Shortcut > in the box that opens type www.mail.yahoo.com >
click Next and in the next box that opens type Yahoo! Mail and click
Finish.

Another way: Go to Yahoo! Mail Page > left-click and hold on the blue bar
at the top of your browser window and pull down far enough to expose the
desktop, or drag one side in or the bottom up (if it will not move, click the
box beside the X at the top right corner of the screen to Restore Down) >
left click and hold on the icon on the left of the address on the address
bar and drag it to the desktop and release it, then you can minimize the
window and left-click on the icon and hold and drag it to where you want it
on your desktop.

If none of these methods work, and the error message persists, there is the
possibility of a damaged .dll file or a virus infection.

This means...

1. Your DNS Server is Not Configured, you cannot browse without one.
2. you are not connected to internet..

Solution..

1. Check you TCP settings, put DNS server given by Your ISP
2. Try to ping ISP gateway to see are you connected to Internet or not.
