Windows 7 - Alternative to the Files and Transfer Settings wizard

Asked By Ken Springer on 18-Jul-12 12:37 PM
Does anyone know of an alternative software program to the Files and
Transfer Settings wizard?

I am looking for something similar that will allow me to choose where I
want the user files placed when restoring the data from the backup. I
could be missing something in the use of the F&T wizard.

In this case, I am not concerned with program settings, they can go to
the dumpster. I am just interested in a quick way to get the users
data from C: to another driver/partition, not necessarily to a
replacement computer. Hopefully, even files that are not inside My
Documents.

www.xxcopy.com offers a free copy utility with more parameters
(e.g. copy later file) than any user could possibly want.

This might work, based on a quick look at their website. But I will have
to spend sometime reading the online manual (Gawd, do I hate online
manuals, cannot go sit in the recliner and relax while reading. :-) ).

Reminds me of the old DOS Xcopy command, with a huge increase in the
number of parameters.

Thanks for the info.
