you can type Chinese characters "ÁªÍ¨¡° in a new text file , save it ,then
open it ,you will find ¡±ÁªÍ¨¡°is lost ,and only a "?" left in the text file
.this BUG also exist in Windows XP.

if you cann't type ¡±ÁªÍ¨¡°,you can copy it into the text file.

Save the text file as unicode and the characters will be preserved.  You =
are running an English version of Vista, and those Chinese characters =
are not translatable into the 1252 ANSI codepage and are replaced with =
question marks.  This is the same behavior in Vista as every other =
previous Windows OS.

yes ,saving as unicode can preserve the Chinese characters,but you should
select unicode ,whereas,people often save it as default ,they don't select
